Zinc Formalin

| Zinc chloride | 1.6 | g |
| Sodium chloride | 4.5 | g |
| Distilled water | 900 | mL |
| Zinc sulphate or salicylate may be used instead of zinc chloride. The pH may be adjusted with 1M HCl or NaOH. |
Fixation of average sized pieces should be satisfactory after 24 hours, but may be left for several days. Wash tissues with running tap water for half an hour or so before processing.
